The business environment was very professional and amazing and made everyone feel as though they were a part of something special.

All horse businesses negatively impact the environment. Look up "nutrient pollution". Basically, the rain runoff from the manure carries nitrogen and other nutrient with it. The nitrogen is a big nutrient which all living things need to survive. Anyway, when these nutrients get carried into the water (in large amounts) it causes a huge problem. What happens is the excess nutrients create too many algae, called an algal bloom. The algal bloom is basically pond scum that covers the surface of the water and blocks sunlight. The lack of sunlight kills plants, and with no plants the fish die. Dead fish are food for bacteria which then flourish and lower the oxygen content of the water. Eventually the algae die (they re short lived) and start decomposing, further sapping the water of oxygen. Eventually you will be left with a slimy, gross, fish-free pond. Another negative impact is overgrazing. When horses eat too much grass, the ground loses the plant cover. With no plants to hold it in place, erosion is a huge problem. This can also lead to flash floods, as they lower the infiltration capacity of the soil by killing grass. Third, horses eat. A lot. It takes a lot of energy to produce enough food for them with tractors and all, that uses a lot of fuel. None of these things are big enough issues to warrant getting rid of horses, but they are important to think about and realize how it impacts the environment.

One example -think of over-packaged consumer goods. They use resources to make. They use extra fuel to deliver. Finally they take room in landfills and take forever to bio-degrade.
