The Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7) is a 7-item instrument used to briefly measure or assess one of the most common mental disorders. The cut off points for mild is a score of 5, for moderate is 10 and for severe anxiety is a score of 15. When using this screening tool, further evaluation is recommended when there is a score of 10 or higher.

Statistics Solutions consists of a team of professional methodologists and statisticians that can assist the student or professional researcher in administering the survey instrument, collecting the data, conducting the analyses and explaining the results.

Hoarding is the persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions, regardless of their actual value. The behavior usually has deleterious effects—emotional, physical, social, financial, and even legal—for a hoarder and family members.

For those who hoard, the quantity of their collected items sets them apart from other people. Commonly hoarded items may be newspapers, magazines, paper and plastic bags, cardboard boxes, photographs, household supplies, food, and clothing.

Hoarding can be related to compulsive buying (such as never passing up a bargain), the compulsive acquisition of free items (such as collecting flyers), or the compulsive search for perfect or unique items (which may not appear to others as unique, such as an old container).

A mental disorder , also called a mental illness [1] or psychiatric disorder , is a diagnosis by a mental health professional of a behavioral or mental pattern that may cause suffering or a poor ability to function in life. Such features may be persistent, relapsing and remitting, or occur as a single episode. Many disorders have been described, with signs and symptoms that vary widely between specific disorders. [2] [3]

The causes of mental disorders are often unclear. Theories may incorporate findings from a range of fields. Mental disorders are usually defined by a combination of how a person behaves , feels , perceives , or thinks. [2] This may be associated with particular regions or functions of the brain , often in a social context. A mental disorder is one aspect of mental health. Cultural and religious beliefs, as well as social norms , should be taken into account when making a diagnosis. [4]

Generalized Anxiety Disorder must be consistently present to be diagnosed and must affect your life (individual, family, social). Seems like you are just going through a phase, you did your research and it s crossed your mind, potentially blaming your relationship on a disorder? I d look at the deeper issues, what is causing you to analyze things with your boyfriend? What makes you worry? What kind of history do you have with abandonment/attachment? Currently and in the past? How have you delt with anxiety and issues like this in the past? GAD is a constant fear, doesn t seem like you display that, it just seems situational = practice deep breathing, do exercise (anxiety relives it s self through muscle contractions), practice yoga, and find other things other than your boyfriend to give meaning in your life

That seems fine. I suppose your closing will also reach conclusions as you analyse the appropriateness and effectiveness of various treatments on different sufferers along the way. Oh, you might want to hav e a section, before symptoms, on the history of GAD. It s a fairly new classification of something that must have been recognised as something else before, I think. So what was life pre-GAD? Hope you see what I; m getting at.
