The SAT ( / ɛ s eɪ t i / ; es- AY -tee ) is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. Introduced in 1926, its name and scoring have changed several times; originally called the Scholastic Aptitude Test , it was later called the Scholastic Assessment Test , then the SAT I: Reasoning Test , then the SAT Reasoning Test , and now, simply the SAT.

The SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors. [9] The College Board states that the SAT measures literacy and writing skills that are needed for academic success in college. They state that the SAT assesses how well the test takers analyze and solve problems—skills they learned in school that they will need in college. However, the test is administered under a tight time limit (speeded) to help produce a range of scores. [10]

Learn when and where the test is offered, what to do if you re testing outside the U.S. or have special circumstances, which colleges require or recommend the SAT with Essay, and more.

The beginning is good, but I don t like your thesis about arrogance. I don t think that s the problem. Also, you haven t said anything about the education system, which is what they ve asked you. You need to read the assignments carefully and answer what they ve asked. Schools are overcrowded and often students don t get enough teacher attention. Students don t want to be remembered as the one who doesn t know, so they ll remain quiet or try and bluff it out. There s also the problem of peer pressure: admitting you don t know often results in laughter or sarcasm, usually from those who are trying to direct attention away from their own ignorance. I think you ve missed the point. This effort is wordy and amorphous and doesn t address the question that was asked.

Your opening has little to do with the prompt. You re discussing the downside of celebrity, not the responsibility of the powerful. You also spend too much time getting around to the subject. This is going to be graded by someone who wants to know what you re talking about in the first three sentences. Make them work hard at their job, they get angry. (learn this lesson before you reach college, an underpaid TA or a guy getting paid ten bucks to grade SAT essays is not happy at his job) You use a lot of rhetorical references, none of which are supported by examples or explanations, as if merely mentioning Michael Jackson proves your vague thesis. I m left wondering if this is supposed to mean, the powerful have a responsibility to not **** little boys or if the powerful just have a responsibility to not OD on drugs. Then you cap it off with the prompt, as if you ve said something connected to it.

I got a 12/12 on the essay and this is what I did: -My structure: strict intro, body, conclusion. if you re running out of time and haven t finished the conclusion, quickly wrap up that sentence and MAKE SURE you have at least a sentence for the conclusion. -Use three strong examples to support your argument Use 1 high school level or beyond piece of literature 1 historical event and 1 current event -Realize for your examples, the accurateness of what you say is NOT what you are to be tested on. I don t recommend that you just throw in a bunch of lies, but realize they are forced to grade you on how you support your argument. If you don t recall a certain date exactly, say what you think it is. "In about the year 1987." -Pace yourself, you dont have much time -a strong, clear, concise thesis/ into paragraph is crucial. avoid the floweriness. you want your point to be straightforward
