A&M has the better and more prestigious engineering department. In general, I think that A&M is the better and more prestigious university. I d suppose that an A&M degree looks better to employers than a Cal Poly degree. Plus A&M has D1 sports, a large and helpful alumni base and a relatively cohesive student body. Plus, it is in the greatest state, Texas.

First of all: Congratulations and Gig em!!! You ve made a wise choice. Texas A&M has rush just prior to the beginning of the fall semester. You can contact the Greek organizations in the summer to find out what you ll need to know. You can also find out a great deal of information by looking through the website below. I will tell you that Greeks at TAMU are a small percentage of the student body. Also, there is no way the students can all live in the houses, which are all off campus. A freshman wouldn t be able to live in the house, so you need to make arrangements for the dorm or an apartment anyway, at least for your first year. Best wishes!

I believe that one must have a bachelor s (4-year, if attend college on a full-time basis) college degree and have taken the necessary prerequisite courses before possibly getting accepted into school for veterinary medicine. I m sure that admissions is quite competitive for vet school and that one s total GPA (grade point average) as well as how well the student does in the prereq courses are key. Each program may have slightly different prerequisites and requirements so please check with the vet schools that you re interested in transferring to Before taking any of the college courses. If interested in a more career-oriented degree, perhaps veterinary technology (associate/2-year degree) is more suitable and one may always continue onto getting a bachelor s degree in one of the sciences including biology, chemistry or even animal science before applying to vet school. For general career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search veterinarians , veterinary technologists and technicians or such. Please only consider accredited veterinary programs -- American Veterinary Medical Association: http://www.avma.org
