Transgender is a term used to describe people whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. Gender identity is a person s internal, personal sense of being a man or a woman (or boy or girl.) For some people, their gender identity does not fit neatly into those two choices. For transgender people, the sex they were assigned at birth and their own internal gender identity do not match.

Transgenders are some of the bravest people I have ever met. They have dealt with their own demons and are faced with everyone else s demons, but still persist to be the best person they know how to be! All people are born with two things, a soul and a body. Transgender s souls don t match their bodies but find the courage to make it work in the best ways they know how. I always do my best to respect the person a transgender believes themselves to be, because that is what I would want from them in return. I always use proper pronouns to validate the person their souls are. Without Transgenders, there would be No GLBT movement as we know it!

Boys will be boys - but these days, some of them will be girls, too.
