This Chapter outlines the logical steps to writing a good research paper. To achieve supreme excellence or perfection in anything you do, you need more than just the knowledge. Like the Olympic athlete aiming for the gold medal, you must have a positive attitude and the belief that you have the ability to achieve it. That is the real start to writing an A+ research paper.

Focus on a limited aspect, e.g. narrow it down from "Religion" to "World Religion" to "Buddhism". Obtain teacher approval for your topic before embarking on a full-scale research. If you are uncertain as to what is expected of you in completing the assignment or project, re-read your assignment sheet carefully or ASK your teacher.

The colour scheme is consistent with that of the phylogeographic analyses in Figs 1 and 3 : the constant-logistic population size estimates (the ‘effective number of infections’, N e , multiplied by the mean viral generation time, τ ) through time are depicted in a black–yellow colour range (following the African and Caribbean locations in the phylogeographic analyses) while the logistic population size estimates for the nested US clade are shown in blue (as for the US/NYC location in the phylogeographic analyses).

a , gag , b , pol , c , env and d , the complete genome. We analysed the same data sets as in Extended Data Fig. 3. The diameters of the internal node circles reflect bootstrap support values. We manually coloured the branches in a similar way as for the Bayesian phylogeographic reconstructions.

NoodleTools gives students a systematic but flexible framework for navigating the tangled web of research. Students develop expert critical-thinking skills, gain confidence, and replace patchwriting and plagiarism with synthesis.

From a novice’s research question to a graduate student’s thesis, the three levels of NoodleTools provide a mental model for research and a common language across faculty and disciplines.

You ll probably find that suffrage is rather limited to write about as far as interesting things go. Does it have to be about America? If not why don t you look at the social structure of Ancient Greece. sounds boring I know! However you could look at HOW and WHY women s lives in Athens and Sparta differed so greatly, and how they affected the societies they lived in and their mark on history.

Why are you asking us for a paper topic? Ask yourself what it is in life that you find most interesting, and what era of history you find most interesting, and write about that aspect of life in that era of history. Are you religious? Write about the history of your (or any other) religion. Does family matter most to you? Write about marriage, kinship, and child rearing in that period. Are you interested in art or music? Write about the art or music of the period. Etc. History is no more and no less than the study of human experience in time, which also means that everything human has a history. Whatever it is in life that YOU find interesting, you will write your best history paper if you go research the past of that part of life. Finally, a word of advice; use TOPICAL dictionaries and encyclopedias to identify what sources, both primary and secondary, are available on your subject, before you do any other research. Plan on spending an hour or two to start with working through these reference books. For the periods you re talking about, use the Oxford Classical Dictionary or the Dictionary of the Middle Ages to start; then go into a little more depth with the appropriate volumes of the Cambridge Ancient History or the New Cambridge Medieval History. I assume you re in college, any college library should have those. The entries and bibliographies from these will give you all the material you need on just about any subject to pursue the rest of your research project.
